Uzbek students win awards at international Olympiad in Germany

The 5th International Olympiad “Lomonosov Days – Berlin 2025” for students was held at the Lomonosov International School in the German capital, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Representatives from Germany, Armenia, Mongolia, Latvia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan participated in the competition. More than 80 students were divided into 14 teams to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.

Uzbekistan was represented by students from Tashkent’s Goethe School No. 60, the non-governmental educational institution “Sehriyo” and the non-governmental educational institution “Istiqbol zamon bolalari” from Namangan.

The Olympiad included competitions in various subjects and formats. Individual knowledge was tested in mathematics, Russian, English, and German. In the overall team competition, students from grades 7–9 answered questions in history, geography, and natural sciences on a variety of topics. Participants also presented projects on relevant themes they had prepared in advance.

The Uzbekistan team won four awards in total. A student from Tashkent School No. 60 took 1st place in the German language category, while students from “Sehriyo” and “Istiqbol zamon bolalari” earned 2nd and 3rd places in the Russian language category. Additionally, representatives of “Sehriyo” secured 3rd place in the team competition.

Besides showcasing the achievements of Uzbekistan’s education system and culture, the students had the opportunity to make friends with peers from other countries. To acquaint participants with German culture, excursions were organized to Berlin, Leipzig, and Potsdam, including visits to historical museums.
