ZAHRA KAYA-AZAD: "LET THE PEACE AND SECURITY PREVAILING IN UZBEKISTAN, CONTRIBUTE TO STABILITY AND DEVELOPMENT IN NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES"

On the occasion of the forthcoming celebration of the 24th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of social and political circles of foreign countries sent their congratulations to the Uzbek people.

Thus, Chairman of the Swiss Association Dialog for the Promotion of education, culture and the development Zahra Kaya-Azad has sent following sincere greeting to all residents of Uzbekistan:

— I live in Switzerland for 32 years and I am a citizen of this state. However, being born in Kabul (Afghanistan), I have the Uzbek roots - my mother and grandmother were born on the territory of Uzbekistan.

As a child I heard a lot about this country, about which my mother told me with a special warmth and love. I think that its exactly her who gave me an interest and respect for this country.

Therefore, I am very interested in history and modern development of the republic, and I hope to visit it and once to be at the places where my ancestors lived.
Our association was established in 2013 to promote the development of education and culture. We carry out projects to support the reconstruction of Afghanistan and assist the Afghans living in Switzerland, in their integration into society.

In the future, we intend to expand our activities in the countries of Central Asia. We have, in particular, plans to build a cultural center in Geneva, which will be called "The Great Silk Road". We hope for the support and cooperation of Uzbekistan and other countries in the region on this issue.

On the eve of an important holiday for all Uzbeks, I sincerely wish the country every success in the political, economic, social and other spheres. I would also like to note the importance of joint efforts and further expansion of cooperation between the Central Asian states to strengthen the enabling political and socio-economic environment for the benefit of all the inhabitants of this region. Let the peace and security, prevailing in your country, contribute to the stability and development in the neighboring countries.

I would like to express to the people of Uzbekistan my best wishes of peace, happiness and prosperity.
