Uzbekistan showcases its cultural and tourism potential at a festival in South Korea

The city of Busan hosted the Global Gathering–2025 International Festival of Culture and Tourism, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Organized by the Busan Metropolitan Government and the Busan Foundation for International Cooperation (BFIC), the event brought together diplomatic missions from over 50 countries accredited in South Korea, as well as representatives of public, cultural, and creative organizations, leading tourism companies, media, and bloggers.

To promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and showcase the country’s rich cultural heritage, the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Association of Uzbek Students in Busan organized a dedicated national stand at the event.

The stand featured books and travel guides, traditional costumes, handicrafts, gold embroidery, wood carvings, silk products, and other items of folk art that reflect the country’s diverse cultural traditions and tourism opportunities.

Colorful photo and video presentations highlighted Uzbekistan’s major tourist attractions, including ancient architectural monuments in cities listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, modern entertainment venues, and various destinations across the country.

Visitors to the stand received detailed information about Uzbekistan’s efforts to develop new types of tourism, such as pilgrimage, ecotourism, ethnographic, gastronomic, sports, youth, and family tourism. They also learned about ongoing reforms in the tourism sector and the creation of favorable conditions for international travelers.

In addition, traditional Uzbek dishes were offered to festival guests, including samsa, chak-chak, and plov – a signature dish of Uzbek cuisine.

Visitors were given colorful brochures, informational materials, and souvenirs in Korean and English. The Embassy’s stand and the national cuisine received high praise from both organizers and attendees.
