Indonesian UGnews newspaper published a series of materials devoted to Uzbekistan.
One article told about accepted in this country measures to enhance the role and status of women in society, and to ensure protection of their rights and interests, the creation of all necessary conditions for the growth of their socio-political and socio-economic activity.
It reported on the establishment of the republic in the legislative framework, consisting of more than 100 laws and other legal acts aimed at the further development of public policy on women and the improvement of the institutional protection of their rights. Separately, it emphasizes that the Republic of Uzbekistan has ratified a number of conventions of the UN and the ILO on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women, maternal health and prevention of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
UGnews informs that today in the lower house of Uzbek parliament sit 24 women deputies, and a part of the upper house (the Senate), the number of representatives of the fair sex is 17%.
— This reflects not only the steady growth of their political, social activity, but also on the legislative guarantees for their participation in the representative bodies of state power, - the publication says.
The second material acquaints Indonesian readers with the success of our country in the field of development of small business and entrepreneurship, strengthen the protection of the rights and interests of the owners.
— In recent years, the country carried out significant work to strengthen the safeguards for the protection of private property, the process of liberalization of administrative and criminal legislation regulating entrepreneurial activity. There is a simplification of all kinds of registration, licensing and licensing procedures, as well as those related to foreign economic activity. In addition, the business entities of Uzbekistan gained greater access to material resources and credit that will be important in expanding their activities, - noted in the publication.
According to the newspaper, as a result of the measures the share of small business and private entrepreneurship in gross domestic product has risen from 31% in 2000 to 56% currently. In this area, more than 77% of the working population are employed. Most importantly, in the course of large-scale reforms formed the middle class - owners who are making a huge contribution to the development of the national economy, contribute to the creation of thousands of new jobs.
The newspaper also published an article on the participation of Uzbekistan in the World Exhibition Expo Milano-2015 which lasts from May to October 2015 in Italy.
As reported by the publication, in the large-scale event, our country participates with its national pavilion. It demonstrates the achievements of the republic’s independence, its economic and investment potential. In addition, it describes the conditions and preferences in the free industrial economic zone and a favorable investment environment, infrastructure development, transport and logistics, rich cultural heritage and history of the Uzbek people.
Special attention is given to the fact that at exhibition you can see the impressive results of Uzbekistan on development of agricultural sphere, achieving grain self-sufficiency, growing organic fruit and vegetables, the expansion of livestock, poultry, fish farming, the successful introduction of modern technologies in this important sector.
