UZBEKISTAN - CHINA: COOPERATION IS DEVELOPING DYNAMICALLY BASED ON STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov September 2 arrived in Beijing on the invitation of President of China Xi Jinping.

After the official welcoming ceremony for the President of our country at the international airport "Shoudu" of Beijing delegation of Uzbekistan headed to the residence "Diaoyutai", which was assigned to it.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov on the same day met with the President of China Xi Jinping.

The Head of Uzbekistan congratulated the President of the Peoples Republic of China on the 70th anniversary of the Victory in World War II and noted that the people of China has made a great contribution to the victory.

— It gives me great pleasure to congratulate you and in your person all the people of China on this auspicious occasion. We bow before the memory of those who fought against the invaders with their lives and enormous sacrifices made a great contribution to the end of the World War II. This victory paved the way for the formation of the new China, has created everything possible to ensure that China now occupies the place of honor, which is taken up at China’s true worth, - Islam Karimov said.

President of China, welcoming the Head of our state in connection with a visit to China, expressed his gratitude for accepting the invitation.

— I am very pleased to have the opportunity to meet with you. I take this opportunity to congratulate you and the friendly people of Uzbekistan on Independence Day. The people of Uzbekistan, who fought against fascism in World War II, was supporting our people. We will never forget it and appreciate our current mutual cooperation, - said Xi Jinping.

Relations between Uzbekistan and China are developing dynamically in the spirit of strategic partnership. Mutually beneficial cooperation covers all areas of politics, economy, trade, industry, finance, construction, science, education and culture. The relationship between our countries have been developing based on a number of important documents, such as the Joint Declaration on the establishment of strategic partnership, the Treaty of amity and cooperation, Joint Declaration on further development and deepening of bilateral strategic partnership.

Friendship, mutual respect and trust between Islam Karimov and Xi Jinping are important in the development of cooperation between our countries. The two leaders meet regularly, exchange views on strengthening and further expansion of relations. In September 2013 сhinese President visited Uzbekistan on a state visit. The Head of Uzbekistan in August 2014 made a state visit to China. Islam Karimov and Xi Jinping in July this year also met during the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the city of Ufa.

In the course of the Beijing summit talks the parties discussed in detail the current state of mutual relations and prospects for their further development.

A number of large investment projects are being implemented in our country in cooperation with China. Obvious examples are the effective cooperation of the Central Asia-China, electrified railroad Angren-Pap, production capacity involved in the industrial zone "Navoi" "Jizzakh" and "Angren". In Uzbekistan there are more than five hundred enterprises with Chinese investment.

Steadily increasing volume of trade. This figure for the last 6 years has increased by 3 times, in 2014 reached 4.7 billion USD. In the first half of this year, bilateral trade increased by 11.7%.

Islam Karimov said that Uzbekistan highly appreciates the cooperation with China, ties based on mutual trust and interest have been developing in all spheres.

Xi Jinping stressed that China considers Uzbekistan as one of the prospective strategic partners interested in further expansion of mutual cooperation.

The sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues on further development of Uzbek-Chinese relations and discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.

President Islam Karimov participated in the informal meeting of Heads of State and Governments of the countries invited to China on the occasion of the celebrations.

The Head of our state will take part in the solemn ceremony devoted to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in World War II, which is to be held on September 3 in the city of Beijing.
