South Korean city Goesan (province of Chungcheong-Pukto) hosted International exhibition of organic products ISOFAR 2015 Goesan. Administration of the province of Chungcheong-Pukto, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Affairs of the Republic of Korea and International Society for Study of Organic Agriculture (ISOFAR) have organized it.
Heads of ministries and departments, local authorities of the Republic of Korea, representatives of academia, companies and firms, foreign organizations, as well as employees of accredited diplomatic missions attended the event. They discussed the development of agriculture and the introduction of modern agricultural technologies with a focus on organic products.
Uzbekistan at the exhibition was presented by the Embassy of our country in the Republic of Korea. The exposition features the presentation of the republic in the agricultural sector. Particular attention is given to acquaint visitors with the work of the Uzbek national stand at the World Exhibition EXPO Milano-2015, continued in Italy.
Members appreciated the presentation results of the market and institutional reforms in the agricultural sector of our country. They also commented favorably on the results of the measures taken in Uzbekistan on introduction of modern agricultural technologies and effective implementation of investment projects with foreign partners.
Recall that the province of Chungcheong-Pukto is located in the center of the Republic of Korea, with a population of over 1.5 million people. The region is known for agriculture, which specializes in the cultivation of rice, barley, beans and sweet potatoes. There is also cultivated ginseng. Currently, Chungcheong-Pukto is seen as a cluster of organic products in South Korea. The province has reserves of minerals such as gold, iron, coal, steatite, fluorite, molybdenum and others.
