Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan created the Supreme Interstate Council

Following the high-level talks, the ceremony of signing bilateral documents took place, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of state, Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev signed an Agreement to establish the Supreme Interstate Council between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In addition, during the visit, 15 documents were adopted at the level of states, governments, and agencies of the two countries.

Among them is the Action Plan for deepening comprehensive strategic partnership for 2023-2024, the Agreement on further deepening cooperation in the energy sector, cooperation in the youth policy and sports, and the Action Plan for developing cooperation in the media sphere.

In addition, additions and amendments were introduced to the Agreement on Visa-Free Travel of Citizens. Agreements were reached on cooperation in introducing an information system for the electronic exchange of E-permit forms, in culture, in protecting families and children, and in food security. Memorandums of cooperation were signed between the secretariats of the Security Council, in cybersecurity, and others.

These documents will deepen practical cooperation in several promising areas of interaction between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
