USAID delivers 112 tons of enriched food supplies to Uzbekistan

On April 15, the US Ambassador to Uzbekistan Ms. Pamela L. Spratly, the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Furqat Khalilov and the Chairman of the board of the International Charitable Foundation "Soglom avlod uchun" Svetlana Inamova announced the delivery of a new food supply provided under "Food for Peace - 2015" program, conducted by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), reports IA UzReport.
The presentation of the 6th round of the Food Programme was attended by representatives of the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Labour and Social Welfare, Health and Public Education, the US Embassy in Uzbekistan, the American non-governmental organization «Resource and Policy Exchange, Inc.», and other partners.
It was noted that the delivery of 112 tons of enriched food will be provided to patients of 119 institutions, including houses "Muruvvat" and "Sahovat", as well as specialized medical institutions throughout Uzbekistan. The content of the delivery includes dry vegetable soups enriched with vitamins and minerals. "Soglom avlod uchun" will deliver food to agencies-recipients and will monitor its distribution.
