The Special Representative of the President and the Special Envoy of the European Union during the e-meeting discussed the efforts of Uzbekistan and the EU for a peaceful settlement of the Afghan crisis and coordination of international efforts

Yesterday, the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held a videoconference call with the Special Envoy of the European Union for Afghanistan Tomas Niklasson, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the Uzbekistan MFA, during the e-meeting, they discussed the efforts of Uzbekistan and the EU for a peaceful settlement of the Afghan crisis, as well as the speedy provision of humanitarian and other assistance to Afghanistan.

The importance of the UN’s leading role in coordination of international efforts was emphasized.

Mutual interest was expressed in continuing consultations on the Afghan issue, both on a bilateral basis and at the level of special representatives of the Central Asian countries.
