The progress of work in priority areas within the framework of the implementation of the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy reviewed

On March 6, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Advisor on Economic Development, Effective Public Administration and International Cooperation, Suma Chakrabarti.

The progress in implementing the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy as a whole and the State Program for its implementation this year was reviewed. Issues of intensifying work within the framework of the negotiation process on Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO, including the harmonization of the national regulatory framework in accordance with the organization’s requirements, were discussed.

The need to continue specific practical measures on drinking water supply projects, improving school infrastructure, preventing cancer, improving quality, and ensuring competition in the public service was emphasized.

A separate issue of the meeting was increasing Uzbekistan’s investment attractiveness, including strengthening guarantees for protecting investor rights. In this context, the Advisor proposed specific mechanisms for resolving commercial disputes, considering best international practices.
