The President of Uzbekistan receives a delegation led by Japan's Minister of Finance

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on the sidelines of the Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors, received a delegation led by the Minister of Finance of Japan Satsuki Katayama.

The meeting was also attended by Nobumitsu Hayashi, Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, and Masao Yahara, Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency.

The distinguished guest conveyed the Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi’s sincere greetings and best wishes to the President of Uzbekistan.

It was noted that the President of Uzbekistan’s visit to Japan in December 2025 marked the beginning of a new era in bilateral relations.

During the meeting, the positive dynamics of economic cooperation were emphasized. Trade turnover is rising, and major investment projects involving leading Japanese companies are underway.The President of Uzbekistan put forward several promising initiatives to modernize the country’s financial system, including the introduction of artificial intelligence in the treasury sector, the digital transformation of finance, and the training of highly qualified specialists in this field.An agreement was reached to accelerate the implementation of socially significant projects across renewable energy, healthcare, information technology, transportation, and agriculture.
