The President of Uzbekistan notes the importance of effectively realizing the potential of cooperation with Oman

On April 15, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the Sultanate of Oman led by Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the “Central Asia – Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf” Strategic Dialogue.

The Foreign Minister conveyed the sincere greetings and wishes of the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, to the President of Uzbekistan.

Issues of enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries were considered, primarily the effective implementation of potential in trade, economic, and investment spheres.

The importance of expanding the portfolio of projects of the joint investment company operating in Uzbekistan was noted.

Implementing new projects and programs in priority areas, such as the development of the banking sector, digital technologies, energy, industry, agriculture, and education, was proposed.

The need to intensify contacts and institutional mechanisms for cooperation was emphasized – regular political consultations, meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission, business forums, and exhibitions.

Views were also exchanged on issues of regional cooperation, including within the framework of the 2011 Ashgabat Agreement.
