The President of Uzbekistan approved proposals for the development of e-government

Yesterday, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of measures for developing e-government, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of state, Uzbekistan is actively digitalizing sectors of the economy and social services. Tasks in this direction have been defined in the recently adopted “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy – the goal is to enter the top 30 of the UN e-Government Development Index.

The e-Government Development Index reflects the degree of development of e-government in countries around the world. It encourages the expansion of electronic dialogue between the state and the people, increasing the accessibility and ease of use of services and developing the country’s investment attractiveness. In recent years, Uzbekistan has been consistently improving its position in this ranking, and last year took 69th place.

An action plan, consisting of 53 events in 6 directions, was developed with the participation of foreign experts to enter the top thirty of the ranking. Among other things, it improves 112 indicators in online services, the launch and integration of 700 digital services into the my.gov.uz portal in 2024, and the provision of settlements and highways with high-speed Internet.

A Project Office will be established under the commission to implement the Uzbekistan – 2030 Strategy for scientific and legal support of these processes and interaction with partners.

The President approved these proposals and gave instructions on developing human capital in online services and high technologies. The Ministry of Digital Development has been instructed to conduct a presentation at the UN DESA on the measures taken by Uzbekistan and the results achieved to improve Uzbekistan’s position in the ranking.
