On May 1, a meeting of the board of the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the results of the industry for the first quarter of 2015, the course of the introduction and development of information and communication technologies, defining perspectives and directions of future activities was held.
The work of the board attended by the heads of departments, divisions of the Ministry, joint stock companies, enterprises and organizations of the sphere. The participation of the territorial bodies of the Ministry, as well as regional business scope at the meeting was provided through video conferencing.
During the meeting it was noted that, during three months, the growth of services provided by enterprises of the industry amounted to 24.7%, including the growth of services provided to the population amounted to 24.7%, and the growth of services in the field of software amounted to 16.8%.
By the results of the quarter, the overall rate of use of international information networks has increased by 17 percent compared to the beginning of the year, and amounted to 19 250 Mbit/s. Tariff for operators and service providers on the Internet, connected to the International Center for packet switching, reduced by 10 percent compared to the beginning of the year to 233.27 dollars per Mbit / s.
In order to provide services to Internet TV, video telephony, high-speed Internet and broadcast of HDTV-channels, more than two thousand four hundred kilometers of fiber-optic lines for broadband access to modern technologies were laid.
The number of domains in the zone «UZ» is more than 20.4 thousand units. During the meeting, it was noted that a national segment of the Internet has been developing insufficiently. The acceleration of the work on the adoption of measures has been instructed by determining the accelerated development of the national information resources.
The single interactive state services portal is developing with good rates, through which citizens and businessmen rendered a total of more than 171.6 thousand E-services. To date, 235 kinds of interactive services are available on the website.
Through the websites of state bodies 1088 kinds of interactive and information services are carrying out, allowing direct appeal or request for obtaining various certificates and documents
To date, 306 state information resources and systems and 378 government agencies were registered, which are being used for the automation of the organizations themselves, and for the provision of electronic services to the population and business entities

During the meeting, appropriate instructions on further development of modalities for a youth employment, graduates of professional colleges, improvement of their economic activity and opportunities for self-realization were given to heads of organizations in the sphere and was instructed on taking measures to increase research capacity, as the faculty of TUIT and its branches, and the industry as a whole.
Special attention was paid to the priorities of the upcoming 2015, conventional from the report of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the socio-economic development in 2014 and the most important priorities of economic program for 2015. These particularly include:
— full utilization of the great potential for further development of telecommunication services in rural areas;
— continuation of the work on further increase of the technical capabilities of the Internet access;
— expansion of the optical broadband networks and the construction of fiber-optic communication lines;
— completion of the transfer to digital television of all regions, including remote areas.
During the meeting, other issues for 2015 were also identified. In particular:
— increasing the number of ports to provide fixed broadband access to the Internet;
— creation of new kinds of interactive services in a single interactive state services portal for businesses digitize the registration of licensed activities and the permitting process;
— implementation of major programs for the development of integrated information systems for the implementation of e-government and others..
Following the discussion, the decision was adopted which sets out practical measures for the further development of the sphere of communication, information and telecommunication technologies.
