THE LAW "ON MEDICINES AND PHARMACEUTICAL ACTIVITY" TO BE AMENDED

In the course of a regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis deputies discussed the draft Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On introducing amendments and addenda to the Law" On medicines and pharmaceutical activity".

The document is aimed at improving the current regulatory framework, taking into account the generally recognized principles and norms of international law, the experience of legislative regulation of the corresponding relations of the World Health Organization (WHO), the leading foreign countries, harmonization of technical requirements for drug regulation with international practice, the elimination of unnecessary administrative barriers hindering the development of pharmaceutical sector.

Factions of political parties and the deputy group of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan noted that the adoption of the draft law would raise the provision of the population with quality and effective drugs, medical products to a new level.

By the results of the meeting, deputies approved and adopted the main provisions of the draft Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On introducing amendments and addenda to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On medicines and pharmaceutical activity" in the first reading.

Responsible committees entrusted to prepare a document for the next reading, taking into account the received proposals, the information service of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan said.
