Tashkent hosts Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan Business Forum

Tashkent hosted Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan Business Forum organized by the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan jointly with the Ministry of Economy and the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The forum was attended by heads of ministries and agencies, industry associations and more than 100 representatives of the largest companies in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

The Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, noted that the events with the participation of entrepreneurs are very important, since they are the engine of economic interaction between the two countries.

The parties noted the existing prerequisites for further building up mutually beneficial partnerships in such areas as petrochemical, chemical, electrical, textile, food, pharmaceutical, jewelry, automotive and other industries.

B2B and G2B meetings took place. Representatives of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan businesses discussed the prospects for business cooperation based on specific project proposals.

Following the forum, several agreements were signed on the implementation of joint projects and trade contracts worth more than $500 million, as well as 10 agreements on practical cooperation between the relevant ministries and agencies of the two countries.
