On March 30, the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting on its results for the first quarter, analyzed the activities of the territorial offices and authorized representatives and discussed preparations for the "World of Rest-2017" exhibition to be held on April 13-14.
During the meeting, participants analyzed critically implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to ensure accelerated development of the tourism industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan" and regulatory and legal documents on tourism development adopted after the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Navoi , Surkhandarya and Khorezm regions, as well as regional programs for tourism infrastructure development.
Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development A. Sharapov critically evaluated the activities of the heads of five territorial departments and authorized representatives in the regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Tashkent city, gave instructions for radical improvement of work in the regions and personal responsibility for the fulfillment of the tasks assigned.
The meeting also involved the report of F. Abdullaeva, Director of the State Enterprise "Center for Promotion of National Tourist Product" on preparations for the forthcoming MUTV-2017 tourist exhibition.
The Chairman stated several directions for saturation of the program for foreign guests within the framework of the exhibition in Tashkent and abroad. The suggestion was made to involve students of professional colleges, universities of tourism and foreign languages in the exhibition as volunteers and interpreters which will enhance their skills in practice.
In addition, the results of the work of the heads of structural divisions of the State Committee for Tourism Development were critically assessed and specific instructions were given to strengthen the work on the ground and establish a dialogue with tourism stakeholders in the framework of clarifying the tasks set by the President for the development of the tourism sector.
