SHAVKAT MIRZIYOYEV'S MEETINGS WITH VOTERS OF ANDIJON AND FARGHONA REGIONS

The candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan fr om the movement of entrepreneurs and businessmen – the Uzbekistan Liberal-Democratic Party (UzLiDeP), Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met voters of Andijon Region on 1 November.

The meeting was opened by the chairman of the Shahrihon District council of UzLiDeP, Qahramon Sarimsoqov.

Candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a speech setting out the main points of his election programme.

In the programme, special attention is paid to such important issues as improving the system of state and public administration, ensuring the supremacy of law and further reforming the judicial-legal system, extending economic reforms, strengthening macro-economic stability, maintaining dynamic growth rates, developing the social sphere, further strengthening peace and accord in the country, providing employment for people, rationally using land and water resources, removing obstacles in the way of the development of private ownership and entrepreneurship, comprehensively and consistently developing the regions and raising the people’s living standards and quality of life.

Like all other regions of the country, Andijon Region is also developing at a high rate. This is confirmed by the fact that its gross regional product has risen by a factor of 1.7 since 2010. More than 95 per cent of the region’s industrial output is produced in such modern sectors as car manufacturing, the light industry, the chemical, petrochemical and food industries.

More than half of 140 joint ventures in the region were established in the past five years in districts wh ere there was no industrial production previously. Today Andijon Region’s exports amount to about 160 million dollars, which is 6 times bigger than in the year 2011.

As a result of broad support for small business and private entrepreneurship entities, their number and share in the region’s economy are increasing. Over the past five years, more than 10 thousand small business entities were established in Andijon, and their number rose nearly by a factor of 2.5. 84 per cent of the employed population work precisely in this sector.

The meeting took place in the format of video conference. There was an open and lively dialogue with voters who gathered in Andijon and all its district centres.

An active member of UzLiDeP from Honobod, Sh.Alimov; a student of the Izbaskan transport vocational college, O.Tojiddinova; a student of the Andijon medical institute, I.Abdumalikov; the head of the Bakht Imkon Chorasi farm in Oltinkol District, F.Ismoilov; the head of the Feruz farm in Marhamat District, G.Karimov; the chief of the Ishkomli Hamkor farm in Shahrihon District, A.Torakulov; a worker of the GM Uzbekistan company from Asaka District, B.Usmonov; and others have said that the implementation of tasks specified in the programme will serve for the development of the country and the people’s wellbeing. It was emphasized that processes relating to the elections of President of the country are in complete conformity with the national legislation and international democratic principles. These people called on voters to take an active part in the forthcoming 4 December elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was opened by the candidate’s authorised representative, people’s poet of Uzbekistan, Iqbol Mirzaaliyev.

Candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a speech detailing the main points of his election programme.

In the election programme of the candidate, special attention is paid to issues of strengthening inter-ethnic accord and unity, raising the people’s wellbeing, modernizing and diversifying industry, removing obstacles in the way of the development of small business and private entrepreneurship, raising land’s fertility and optimizing areas under crops, improving the social infrastructure and providing employment.

Thanks to attention being given to the development of all the regions of the country, Farghona Region is also developing consistently. Last year, the Region’s gross regional product rose by 8 per cent. As part of the socio-economic development of Farghona Region for the year 2015, 3881 projects were implemented in such spheres as industry, agriculture and services, and more than 23 thousand new jobs were created. All in all, 584 billion soms’ investments were used by the region.

Due to further improvement in the business climate and the provision of big possibilities for entrepreneurship, this year 2260 new small business and private entrepreneurship entities were established, and their number reached 18775.

During the meeting held in the format of video conference, a labour veteran, O.Hoshimoov; the head of the regional department of Writers’ Union, people’s poetess of Uzbekistan, E.Siddiqova; a student of the Farghona vocational college of computer technologies, M.Gafforjonova; and others emphasized that the Uzbek model of development was giving its high results in all the spheres.

They said that electoral processes were taking place on the basis of the national legislation and international democratic principles.

Those who made speeches called on voters to take an active part in the forthcoming 4 December elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
