President of Uzbekistan received the head of BRICS New Development Bank

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev today received the head of BRICS New Development Bank Dilma Rousseff, who has arrived in our country to participate in the events of Tashkent international investment forum, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our state, the issues of developing practical cooperation with this multilateral financial institution were discussed.

It was noted with satisfaction that the agreements reached on the margins of the BRICS summit in October last year have been consistently implemented.

Thus, the Bank’s Board of Governors has given its principal consent to Uzbekistan’s joining the member countries of the New Development Bank. A program of priority joint projects worth $5 billion has been formed.

The Head of our state stressed the importance of speedy preparation and implementation of projects in such priority areas as modernization of irrigation systems, development of the mining sector, financing of the private sector, promotion of public-private partnership projects in the spheres of education and infrastructure.

Support was also expressed for the implementation of major regional infrastructure projects.
