PRESIDENT OF MEDEF INTERNATIONAL: GROWTH OF UZBEKISTAN’S GDP IS AMONG THE HIGHEST IN THE WORLD

These days, congratulatory messages keep coming fr om the representatives of foreign countries on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the state independence of our country.

Thus, President of the Movement of French Enterprises MEDEF International Géraldine Lemblé-Pavlov in an interview with the correspondent of Information Agency Jahon in Paris, noted the following:

— Achievements of the independent development of the country, which were mentioned in the speech of President Islam Karimov at the ceremony on the occasion of this significant date, are impressive.

Working in the MEDEF International, I often visited Uzbekistan, wh ere I had the opportunity to be a witness to great changes, in your country under the leadership of the Head of State.

In particular, significant progress has been made in the development of the national economy, the country’s infrastructure, construction of roads, railways, airports. These objects are the key elements of economic and social development of the country, since it helps transport and export products. We can not say the re-establishment and multiplication of the tourism infrastructure. Uzbekistan has a unique architectural monuments, legendary cities, tourist centers that attract hundreds of thousands of foreign travelers. It is noteworthy that the French among them are one of the leading places.

Uzbekistan has a population of 31 million people is an important market in the vast region. Stable growth of GDP is among the highest in the world. These factors, no doubt, can serve as an invitation to French companies to invest in the economy.

Today, we are working to further French companies operating in the energy sector, agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, active input to the Uzbek market.

On behalf of our movement I would like to congratulate the people of Uzbekistan on the holiday - the anniversary of the date of acquisition of sovereignty. On this occasion, we wish the Uzbek people peace, prosperity and continued success!
