“PEACE WILL ALWAYS REIGN IN THIS COUNTRY”

During the ceremony of presenting his credentials in June 2016, Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Sodik Imomi, stressed his willingness to do everything in his competence to further enhance the mutual cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at a reception in Tashkent on the occasion of Tajikistan’s Independence Day, the head of the diplomatic mission said that his nation “has always been and remains committed to the comprehensive development of relations with Uzbekistan. The traditions of friendship and good neighborly ties of our peoples have a long history, and potential of interaction between our two countries is almost inexhaustible.

“Today Uzbekistan is entering a new phase in its history. All of the current achievements of the brotherly people are inextricably associated with the name of the first President of the country Islam Karimov, whose untimely demise not only became a great loss to the Uzbek people, but also a pain in the hearts of its friends.

“We believe that peace, stability and progress will always prevail in this ancient country.”

Expounding on the development of the country he represents, Imomi informed that “Tajikistan has successfully been implementing programs and strategies directed at the comprehensive development of the economy, social and spiritual advancement. Surely, all these achievements are inconceivable without extensive international cooperation, support of our foreign partners and, above all, the neighboring states.”
