PARALYMPIC TEAM OF UZBEKISTAN HAS BEEN MET IN TASHKENT WITH GRAND WELCOMING CEREMONY

The national team of Uzbekistan, which participated in the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, has returned to the homeland today.

A grand welcoming ceremony of champions and winners is conducted at the airport. Meeting of Paralympic heroes has turned into a real celebration. Representatives of the government of the country, parents and friends of Paralympians and their coaches, representatives of the arts and culture, winners of the Olympic Games-2016 and thousands of sports fans have met the champions.

After the welcoming ceremony the athletes went to the National Paralympic Association of Uzbekistan. In the course of historical events for the Uzbek people, our Paralympic athletes won 8 gold, 6 silver and 17 bronze medals and became the 16th in the team event among the 180 national teams with 31 medals. Moreover, our Paralympic athletes have set 6 world, 7 Paralympic and 12 Asian records.
