Pakistani Information agency Diplomacy Pakistan published an article on the review of the main macroeconomic indicators of Uzbekistan in the first half 2015.

As the newspaper writes, due to the systematic and consistent implementation of the adopted strategy of development and modernization of the economy, ensuring its diversification and competitiveness, the country provides high rates of economic growth and strengthening of macroeconomic balance.

The article reported that in the first half of this year, growth in gross domestic product made up 8.1%, the volume of industrial production also rose by 8.1%. The growth of exports totaled 7.4% and a positive trade balance provided.

Special attention is given to the system measures carried out in Uzbekistan to address the problems of employment. It is noted that in the current year 441.8 thousand new jobs created, of which 274.9 thousand or 62.2% in rural areas.

Appreciation is given for deeply thought-active investment policy of our country’s modernization, technical and technological renewal of industries and sectors of the economy, as well as infrastructure development. As a result, the volume of investment increased by 9.8%, including foreign direct investments and loans - 10.9%. 63 investment projects implemented and put into operation in 1866 manufacturing facilities. Production of 585 new types of localized products has been mastered.
