As part of the region’s preparation programme, an open seminar has taken place at polling station No 27 in Bukhara city on issues of preparing for the forthcoming political event.
At the seminar arranged by Bukhara district electoral commission No 3 for the elections of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, there was discussion about organizational-technical aspects of work to equip polling stations to the relevant standards.
“In the territory of the district, 501 polling stations have been formed, their addresses and boundaries have been determined and voters’ list has been compiled. It is important to initiate effective work for the elections to be held on the basis of democratic principles, in conformity with national legislation’s requirements and at a high level. During the seminar, special attention was paid to these aspects,” says Qahramon Tursunov, deputy chairman of Bukhara district electoral commission No 3.
During the seminar, it was noted that it was necessary to create conveniences for ensuring the quality and productivity of the work of the chairman of the electoral commission, that of its deputy chairman and secretary, and generally the functioning of the polling station, including providing computers, Internet access and other means of communication. Recommendations were given on equipping medical and mother and child rooms. There polling station No 27 located in the building of the Bukhara oil and gas industry vocational college was found to be an exemplary polling station.
