Meeting with the Chairman of the Executive Committee – Executive Secretary of the CIS

Today, Tashkent hosted a meeting between the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zayniddin Nizamkhodjayev and the Chairman of the Executive Committee – Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergey Lebedev, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

Information was provided on the latest changes in the electoral legislation of Uzbekistan, the work carried out within the framework of the preparation and conduction of the presidential elections. It was noted that the election campaign is conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Electoral Code and democratic principles.

“We positively assess the changes that are taking place both in the electoral legislation of Uzbekistan and in the country itself. We have been observing the preparations for the upcoming elections for almost a month now and we see that the campaign is well organized. It is worth noting that very solid premises have been allocated as polling stations: schools, universities, houses of culture. Moreover, the election campaign in Uzbekistan is characterized by a healthy atmosphere, that is, there is no black PR that creates tension in society”, Sergey Lebedev said.

Following the meeting, Chairman of the Executive Committee – Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergey Lebedev wished success in holding democratic, free and transparent elections.
