MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF COMPANY "DELOITTE & TOUCHE"

The State Committee of Uzbekistan on privatization, de-monopolization and competition development held a meeting with the Head of the Audit Department of the Caspian region of company "Deloitte & Touche", George Wicks and Director of "Deloitte" in Tashkent, Erkin Ayupov.

According to the committee’s information, in the course of the meeting the guests were informed that on April 28 this year, Decree of the President of our country contributed to adoption of a new privatization program, which differs from previous ones by its scale and new approaches.

In particular, it provides for the implementation of government stakes in large enterprises to strategic foreign investors with the participation of international evaluation organizations, thereby increasing the attractiveness of facilities for investors and transparency of their evaluation.

To publicize the program in Tashkent, International Investment Forum scheduled for October this year.

G.Wicks expressed an interest in the upcoming event, and noted that the company "Deloitte & Touche" has extensive experience in privatization processes, corporate governance and other areas, a considerable scale and credibility, extensive customer base. In addition, the company has experience in organizing such events and participating in them.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on a constant interaction for above activities.
