MEETING WITH AMBASSADOR OF SWITZERLAND

On September 9, 2015 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation Stefan Klötzli.

The ambassador presented a copy of his credentials.

During the talks, the sides exchanged views on the practical issues of Uzbek-Swiss relations, perspective directions of their development in the political, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other fields.

As has been noted, the visit of the President of the Swiss Confederation, the current OSCE Chairman Didier Burkhalter to Uzbekistan, which was held in November 2014, and extensive talks with the President Islam Karimov allowed to strengthen the political dialogue at the highest level and to give new impulse to bilateral relations.

The sides supported continuing the practice of holding regular consultations between foreign ministries, the establishment of inter-parliamentary exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between business representatives of the two countries.

During the meeting, some international and regional problems were also discussed.
