Movement of entrepreneurs and businessmen – liberal democratic party of Uzbekistan held its VIII Congress on October 19. Some 300 delegates elected from Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city Kengashes of the party attended it, the press service of UzLiDeP said.
The Congress participants stressed that the upcoming 4 December 2016 presidential elections are the most important event in the political life of our country, and the UzLiDeP needs to take a very active part.
The delegates noted the radical changes in all spheres of the society of our country, over the years of its independence. A solid foundation of national statehood is created. Extensive work has been carried out on building the democratic state and strong civil society, a functioning market economy, raising the standard of living of the population. The rule of law, a multiparty system, democratic elections have become an integral attribute of the social-political life of the country.
According to participants of the Congress, the implementation of comprehensively proven reforms, ensuring peace and tranquility in our country, a continuous growth of population welfare remain as the main tasks of UzLiDeP as the leading political force, who occupies the largest number of seats in representative bodies.
In the current stage of development of the country, a nominee put forward by UzLiDeP should be able to further strengthen the independence, to bring the transformation process to a new high level. The candidate should also have a clear understanding of the nature and meaning of the reforms, while actively taking part in their implementation, have to inseparably link his fate with the fate of the people, care for their well-being, be a proactive and talented leader.
Based on the above, the Movement of entrepreneurs and businessmen — liberal democratic party of Uzbekistan adopted a decision on the nomination of Shavkat Mirziyoyev as the Presidential candidate in the upcoming elections. It was stressed that Sh. Mirziyoev was a close associate of First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov in the implementation of large-scale reforms, establishing and strengthening the foundations of independence, the formation of the brand new economic system, based on modern market principles. He devoted his entire career to the development of the homeland, has won the respect and esteem of fellow citizens with his practical deeds and actions.
