As part of the program of the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum in Baku, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
As part of the program of the thirteenth session of the World Urban Forum in Baku, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated the President of Azerbaijan on the successful organization of the World Urban Forum.
The sides discussed further strengthening and development of the strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the context of implementing the agreements reached during previous talks.
Positive dynamics in bilateral trade were noted. Since the beginning of the year, mutual trade turnover has increased by more than 40 percent.
Industrial cooperation projects are being successfully implemented across the fields of construction, geology, energy, agriculture, tourism, and other sectors.
The importance of accelerating ongoing projects and expanding the joint investment portfolio was emphasized, including through funding from the Joint Investment Company.
The Presidents also discussed expanding cooperation to implement transport initiatives and develop international transport corridors.
The schedule of upcoming high-level events was reviewed.
