IVETA GRIGULE: "TRUST AND RESPECT - A SOLID FOUNDATION FOR THE FURTHER SUCCESSFUL DEVELOPMENT OF COOPERATION BETWEEN THE EU AND UZBEKISTAN"

These days in our country is visiting chairman of the European Parliament (EP) delegation for relations with the countries of Central Asia Iveta Grigule. Today, she has held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Following the talks, the member of EP shared her impressions of the visit to our country in an interview with information agency "Jahon":

— This is my first visit to Uzbekistan. And the beautiful green city of Tashkent, met me wonderful sunshine, made me the warmest impressions. This weekend I will be able to visit Samarkand - the legendary city that I’ve read and heard, but never seen with his own eyes.

Personally, I always like to think about your country and Central Asia as a whole, as being the deputy of the Latvian Parliament, I worked in a group of cooperation with Uzbekistan. To that there is another reason - we have a lot of common historical roots. And earlier, and now the Baltic states and the countries of Central Asian region associated warm and friendly relations. Despite the long distance between us, we are always respectful to each other, to the culture and traditions of the peoples of the two regions.

This sympathy, trust and respect are a good foundation for the further development of the successful cooperation between the EU and Uzbekistan, and Central Asia in general.

It is beneficial to all - and residents of the EU countries, and the people of Uzbekistan, because of how it feels to each of them, their happiness and well-being depends on the stability, prosperity and the strengthening of each state.

I wish all the best Uzbek - health, happiness, luck and prosperity!
