The Ministry of Justice hosted a meeting within the framework of the Project “Strengthening the rule of law and protection of human rights in Uzbekistan”.

The participants discussed the report on the project’s key results for 2024 and plans for the current year. They summed up the results of a poster, photo, and video contest organized within the framework of the project on eliminating violence against women.

Deputy Minister of Justice and National Coordinator of the project Muzraf Ikramov noted that measures had been taken to effectively establish a free legal aid system for the population by supporting the activities of non-governmental non-profit organizations working in this field.

UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan Akiko Fujii, Authorized Person of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Feruza Eshmatova and Ambassador of Finland to Central Asia Ilkka Raisanen stressed that the activities carried out in this direction are already yielding positive results in strengthening the rule of law and protecting human rights.

The Head of the project, Azamat Salayev, informed about the activities carried out within the framework of the project.

The plan for the current year has been approved.

The winners were awarded at the event.
