At the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a "round table" on the theme "Strengthening and development of inter-parliamentary relations between Uzbekistan and Germany".
The event, organized by the Legislative Chamber, together with the Foundation named after Konrad Adenauer, was attended by parliamentarians of Uzbekistan and Germany, international and national experts, the media.
During the "round table" discussed further development of comprehensive and mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations. An exchange of experience in parliamentary practice.
German colleagues, in particular, members of parliament of Thuringia Evelyn Gross and Michael Mohring made presentations about the experience of Germany on interparliamentary relations, development and practice of legislative control and analytical activities. They praised the democratic reforms in Uzbekistan, including the recent parliamentary and presidential elections.
The event was noted that reforms to improve the quality of legislative work, the effectiveness of parliamentary control, the role of factions of political parties to significantly strengthen the place of parliament in the system of public authorities.
Highlights the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation, exchange of experience with foreign colleagues in enhancing the effectiveness of parliamentary activity.
Guests were particularly interested in the formation of the Legislative Chamber of the parliamentary majority - the Bloc of Democratic Forces and the announcement of the two factions of the parliamentary opposition. It was emphasized that these steps the new parliament will contribute to strengthening multi-party system, strengthening of inter-party competition and factional struggle as the most important conditions for the development of parliamentarism, the formation of an effective system of effective control of parliament over the executive.
