GREETINGS FROM SPAIN

Senators of the Kingdom of Spain have sent congratulations on the 24th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Jose Maria Chikilo:

"As the national anthem of your country says - it is a free sunny land. The modern development of Uzbekistan demonstrates the achievements on the path of independent development, which is commendable.

We are ready for further development and strengthening of cooperation between the parliaments of our countries, which, in turn, will contribute to the deepening of bilateral relations in general.

Taking this opportunity, I want to congratulate all the citizens of the republic on the anniversary of independence. In these holidays I would like to wish Uzbeks all the happiness, sunny sky and peace".

Pedro Agramonte:

"I have visited Uzbekistan, where I became acquainted with the ancient history and rich culture of the people, whom I wish to further high achievements in all fields.

I am deeply convinced that in the near future cooperation between our countries will only grow. For historical roots go deep bilateral relations during the reign of Amir Temur, at the court of whom the ambassador of the King of Spain de Clavijo has stayed, and the Great Silk Road, includes the Spanish city of Valencia.

On the occasion I want to congratulate the people of your great country, which for 24 years is on the path of independent development and construction of a democratic state. I sincerely wish you new successes on the path of stable development and progress".
