France hosts a roundtable discussion on constitutional reform in Uzbekistan

PARIS, July 18. /“Dunyo” IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Paris held a roundtable discussion on the “Constitutional reform – the basis for future transformations”, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

The event was attended by representatives of the European Parliament, the scientific and academic community, think tanks, ministries and agencies of France, as well as media representatives.

Ambassador Sardor Rustambayev spoke in detail about the essence of the constitutional reform, which is aimed at strengthening the rights and freedoms of citizens, as well as creating favorable conditions for entrepreneurial activity. It was noted that the additions also relate to the issues of increasing and strengthening the role of the country’s parliament, the responsibility of state bodies, as well as civil society institutions.

The participants were also informed about the support by the UN General Assembly of another important initiative of the President of Uzbekistan – the adoption of a special resolution on strengthening the connectivity between Central and South Asia, developed by Uzbekistan in collaboration with 40 other states.
