The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers approved the measures for the implementation of a system of mandatory energy labeling and certification of marketed household appliances, newly constructed buildings and structures, reports IA UzReport.
The document provides a list of household appliances, technical documentation, labeling and labels of which starting from January 1, 2016 must contain information on relevant energy efficiency class.
Notations "A", "B", "C», «D», «E», «F», «G» are being introduced for determining the class of energy efficient appliances. Class "A" is used to refer to household electrical appliances with the highest energy efficiency and, accordingly, class «G» - to refer to household electrical appliances with the lowest energy efficiency. The additional energy efficiency classes "A +", "A ++" and above are used to designate household appliances with energy efficiency well above the level of energy efficiency set for Class "A".
From January 1, 2016 - the importation and from 1 July 2016 – the realization on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan of household appliances not consistent with these requirements (except for the realization of second-hand household electrical appliances) will be prohibited.
In this case, electrical appliances, placed under the customs regime "temporary storage" and "bonded warehouse" until January 1, 2016, in exceptional cases, may be released for free circulation and marketed before 1 July 2016.
In addition, according to the document, a phased ban on the import and sale of household appliances with energy efficiency of class «G» - from January 1, 2017, «F» - from January 1, 2018, and "E" - from January 1, 2019 will be set in Uzbekistan.
The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Architecture and Construction is in charge within six months to review the planning regulations and rules on the respective requirements on energy efficiency for newly constructed buildings and facilities.
