ELECTION TIMES ABOUT THE UPCOMING PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IN UZBEKISTAN

Currently the preparation for the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to be conducted on December 4 this year is at a fast pace. This significant event for our country causes a wide interest in the foreign media.

In particular, the Pakistani newspaper Election Times has published an article on the upcoming presidential elections in Uzbekistan. Its author is the editor in chief of this newspaper, a permanent member of the Association of Pakistani lawyers Safir Hussain Shah, who was involved in the monitoring of the parliamentary (2014) and presidential elections (2015) in the Republic of Uzbekistan as an international observer.

The article notes that in order to maximize the representativeness of international observers during the presidential elections the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan has sent an invitation to address such major international organizations as the OSCE ODIHR, CIS Executive Committee, SCO, OIC, and the World Association of electoral bodies (VAIO).

The article also provides detailed information about the plenum Uzbekistan’s political parties - the Democratic Party "Milly Tiklanish", Liberal Democratic Party, People’s Democratic Party, the Social Democratic Party "Adolat". During the plenary sessions it was discussed the issues relating to their participation in the forthcoming elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the nomination of their candidates.

In conclusion, the author explains in detail the electoral legislation of Uzbekistan, forms, methods and technologies of the elections, which provide citizens an equal suffrage, meeting all modern international democratic standards.
