Dushanbe to host an international conference “Uzbekistan and Tajikistan: New prospects for strategic partnership and alliance”

On April 12 this year, the International Institute for Central Asia, together with the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, will hold an international conference in Dushanbe on “Uzbekistan and Tajikistan: New prospects for strategic partnership and alliance”.

The upcoming conference aims to discuss the prospects for the development of bilateral relations, develop practical proposals for enhancing cooperation in trade, industry, transport, ecology and water use, agriculture, and education, and strengthen cultural and humanitarian interaction.

Leading think tanks and research institutes, as well as representatives of ministries and agencies of the two countries, will attend the event.

In addition, during the stay of Uzbekistan delegation in Dushanbe, bilateral meetings are planned at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Institute of Studying the Problems of Asian and European countries of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, the Institute of Economics and Demography and other institutions.

The day before, a pre-departure meeting was held at the International Institute for Central Asia with members of the Uzbekistan delegation participating in the planned conference in Dushanbe. Talks were also held in relevant ministries and research institutions of Tajikistan to discuss the content and organizational issues of the upcoming events.
