DISCOVERING THE TREASURES OF THE NATION

The week of museums has kicked off in Uzbekistan. The grand opening of the week took place last week at the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan.

Till September 8, everyone will be able to visit museums of the republic, discover the wonderful world of art and history free of charge. More than 190 different cultural and educational events will be carried out in 41 museums of the Republic, in the course of the week.

This initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Sports was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on July 11, 2014.

The document also stipulates that Tuesday and Friday in Uzbekistan are the days when children can visit museums free of charge. In these two days, all public museums, regardless of departmental affiliation, must receive children under the age of 18 years and their accompanying parents (or their substitutes) free of charge.
