DIFFERENT SALARIES

Last week, the Ministry of Labor jointly with the International Labor Organization (ILO) has conducted several events in Tashkent devoted to the labor remuneration issues.

There was organized a meeting in the Ministry of Labor with the ILO specialists represented by the ILO senior salary specialist in Moscow Nicolas Stüder and the chief technical advisor of the ILO project in Uzbekistan Anton Hausen.

During the event N.Stüder informed the participants about the status and trends of securing decent wages at the global level, as well as about the significance and role of the ILO in this field.

In turn, our specialists acquainted the guests with the legal framework for labor remuneration in the country and underway improving measures defined in the Strategy for Actions of the development of the Republic of Uzbekistan along the five priority directions in 2017-2021.

At the meeting, the parties agreed to boost the potential for cooperation in the field of bettering the labor remuneration.

A seminar "Wages in the world in 2016-2017. Inequality in wages at enterprises” was taken place in Tashkent as part of the realization of the "Decent work country program in the Republic of Uzbekistan". It was attended by representatives of the ILO, responsible officials of the Ministry of Labor, the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, the Chamber of Commerce, ministries and departments.

During the event there was presented a comparative analysis of the ILO on the gap in the growth of labor productivity and wages, the ratio for the skills of employees and wages in the context of the regions of the world. These issues aroused great interest of the participants.

As a result of the seminar, agreements were made to cement the cooperation in this area.
