DEVELOPMENT OF CIVIL SOCIETY IN UZBEKISTAN IN THE FOCUS OF THE ITALIAN PRESS

The process of democratization and development of civil society in Uzbekistan, as well as implemented practical measures and steps to strengthen the regulatory and structural bases of civil institutions and, in general, changes in the country attracted the attention of foreign media.

Thus, the Italian news agency Dazebao News published an article on the results of the round table on "Actual issues of civil society: the experience of Uzbekistan and Germany", organized recently in Berlin by Uzbek Independent institute for monitoring the formation of civil society (IIMFCS) with the assistance of Friedrich Ebert Foundation with the participation of representatives of the government and parliament of Germany, social, scientific, academic and expert, circles and the German media.

Particular focus is given to the fact that the reforms in Uzbekistan are consistent, based on the implementation of the principle "From strong state - to strong civil society", aimed at increasing the role of citizens in social and political life, the further development of the entire system of civil society institutions and its harmonious integration into the process of governance.

The article notes the opinion of P.Teshendorf, Friedrich Ebert Foundation’s regional coordinator for Central Asia, that a solid legal framework has been established in the country, aimed at further strengthening and supporting civil society, in particular, the laws "On social partnership" and "On openness of public authorities and administration", which became an important step in improving the socio-political, social and economic activity of citizens, as well as the strengthening of public control over the executive.

E.Priller, Research assistant at the Berlin Institute for Civil Society Studies "Mazenata", noted that over the years of independent development Uzbekistan achieved significant results in the formation and support of civil society institutions, laid a solid foundation in building a democratic legal state. German expert said that Uzbekistan approved in more than 30 legislative acts in the field of development of civil society indicate that great attention is paid to this area in the country.

In addition, E.Klose, Chairman of the Board the Brandenburg Institute for Development and Technology and Innovation Support, appreciated the efforts of Uzbekistan in the development of civil society institutions. According to him, they contribute to the effective implementation of many important problems of sustainable development, enable widespread use of the enormous positive potential of the Uzbek society.

Stressing that the participants of the round table had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the relevant information materials on democratic, judicial and socio-economic reforms in our country, the Italian edition notes that Uzbekistan and Germany have broad political and trade and economic ties. This particularly facilitates the opening of the Uzbek economy to foreign investors to enter into joint stock companies with state shares in accordance with the regulations and decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on measures to increase the proportion of the value of private property and the economy.
