On November 5, 2016 the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was held at the headquarters of the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia).
At the meeting the sides exchanged views on topical issues of the agenda of the organization, including the date of the extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC.
On November 4-5, the Uzbek delegation also held bilateral meetings with the Director General of the department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah Ahmad Mohammed Tayyib, and the Acting Secretary General of the OIC Abdullah Alim.
During the talks the parties discussed the practical aspects of implementing the objectives of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship in the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, designated in the 43rd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers in Tashkent, as well as the prospects of development of bilateral relations.
