CELEBRATIONS ON THE OCCASION OF THE 24TH ANNIVERSARY OF UZBEKISTAN'S INDEPENDENCE IN THE SPOTLIGHT OF BALTIC STATES' MEDIA

European publications continue to publish information materials on the anniversary of independence of our country.

Thus, the site of the Latvian media - Baltic News Service (BNS) and the international magazine The Baltic Course published the full text of the speech by President Islam Karimov at the celebrations commemorating the 24 th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence.

Material introduces readers to the results achieved by our country in the years of sovereign development, socio-economic indicators, the process of gradual democratic reforms and foreign policy priorities and interests of the country, aimed at constructive and peaceful purposes.

In particular, as highlighted in publications, Uzbekistan pursued policy to respect for the fundamental principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, international legal instruments and standards, dealing with emerging conflicts exclusively by peaceful and political means.

It is noted that their primary task of Uzbekistan considers the further development of friendly relations and mutual understanding with the countries of near and far abroad, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and stability in the region.

Address by President Islam Karimov at the celebrations on the occasion of the anniversary of independence of our country and caused a genuine interest in socio-political and cultural circles of the Baltic states.

Thus, Head of the Lithuanian Seimas on interparliamentary cooperation with Uzbekistan Valerius Simulik said:

— Lithuania has watched with great interest the development of Uzbekistan, its achievements over the years of independence and sincerely rejoice achievements reached there. In particular, I would like to emphasize areas such as education, health care, which demonstrates a high capacity and effectiveness of the reforms in these areas, given that the contribution to the development of education and health promotion, in fact, - "investment in the future of the country".

We are familiar with the "Uzbek model" of development, which today shows that the Republic initially chose the right way to build a new state and society.

I would like to exercise under the leadership of President Islam Karimov’s reforms were continued, the country reached new heights and success. I wish you all peace and happiness of Uzbek people.

In turn, the Latvian composer Raimonds Pauls said he supports the opinion of the head of Uzbekistan that the independence given to the Uzbek people to revitalize their values, religion, honor and dignity, the awakening of national consciousness, the formation of a new society, building a future that meets the interests and the aspirations of the people, their hopes and aspirations.

In this regard, he congratulated the people of Uzbekistan with the 24th anniversary of independence and wished all residents good health, peace, happiness and prosperity.
