ADB PROVIDED A LOAN FOR THE MODERNIZATION OF JIZZAKH'S SEWERAGE SYSTEM

Asian Development Bank (ADB) has allocated a loan of 81 million USD for the improvement of urban sewage and wastewater in Jizzakh.

This project will collect and process up to 30,000 cubic meters of sewage per day, and more than 85 thousand inhabitants and 350 business entities will have access to drinking water and safe sewage system, Zhang Hao, Chief specialist of the Department of Central and West Asia Department of ADB noted.

In addition to the new water treatment plant, the project involves the construction or renovation of more than 62 km of main sewers and 4 pumping stations, as well as support for the operation of new facilities.

Pumping capacity will also be increased by more than 15 thousand cubic meters per day compared to 9 thousand cubic meters in 2013. In addition, the project contributes to the creation of the regional venture to operate sewage facilities, as well as training for personnel.
