Abdulaziz Kamilov meets with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister

On February 6, 2020, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov, in Baku, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

The state and prospects of development of relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in various spheres were discussed.

Views were exchanged on issues of strengthening trade-economic and investment cooperation. It was noted that despite the sharp increase in bilateral trade last year, the parties have significant potential for further expansion of mutual trade. Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister invited Azerbaijan’s business circles to the First Tashkent Investment Forum to be held on March 5-6, 2020.

Proposals for enhancing inter-parliamentary dialogue, interregional relations and increasing cooperation in transport-communication, logistics, tourism and other spheres were discussed at the meeting.

The parties also discussed issues of interaction within the framework of international structures, in particular Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) and the CIS.
