ABDUL-REDA ASSIRIY: "UZBEKISTAN ACHIEVED TREMENDOUS PROGRESS IN A HISTORICALLY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME"

The creative transformation, implemented in our country, is appreciated and widely recognized abroad.

In an interview with Information Agency "Jahon" Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at Kuwait University, Professor Abdul-Reda Assiriy have spoken on the main achievements and successes of Uzbekistan’s independence.

— Uzbekistan in a historically short period of time has made tremendous progress in all spheres of life. With the proclamation of independence in the country embarked on the formation of market relations based on an evolutionary and phased development.

Most importantly, the transition from a centrally planned economy to a market economy shall be based on the specific conditions and characteristics of the country, traditions, customs, way of life, as well as the experience of other states that have passed the path of market reforms.

Separately, it should be noted that during the years of independent development Uzbekistan has managed to develop and implement an effective investment policy. The country created a favorable business environment, a broad system of legal guarantees and privileges for foreign investors, take concrete measures to stimulate the activities of enterprises with participation of foreign partners. All this contributed to a substantial increase in the inflow of direct foreign investment in the economy.

I would also like to draw attention to the positive achievements of Uzbekistan in building a democratic state of law and a strong civil society. In my opinion, life in peace, prosperity and harmony - these are the main targets of dynamic development of your country in the XXI century.

In conclusion, let me congratulate the people of Uzbekistan with the 24th anniversary of independence and ask the Almighty for further well-being and prosperity.
