A view from Qatar: Uzbekistan and Türkiye strengthen strategic partnership

Editor of Asian Telegraph Qatar Ashraf Siddiqui commented for Dunyo IA on the official visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Türkiye:

– The visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Türkiye has aroused great interest in Middle Eastern countries, including Qatar. Both Uzbekistan and Türkiye hold crucial strategic partnerships with the State of Qatar.

The unique bond between Uzbekistan and Türkiye is exemplified by Türkiye’s recognition of Uzbekistan in 1991, followed by their participation in the regional alliance in the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

This partnership has facilitated around US$4 billion in bilateral trade, attracted over 1,300 Turkish companies to invest in various sectors of Uzbekistan, and established a framework for regular communication between the leadership of both countries through the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in 2018.

The third session of the Council, convened in Ankara on June 6, underscored the unwavering dedication of the leadership of Uzbekistan and Türkiye to further deepen their comprehensive political dialogue and expand mutually beneficial economic cooperation.

The notable growth in bilateral relations, trade, investments, joint projects, joint ventures, air travel, and collaboration across education, healthcare, tourism, culture, art, and sports is evidently driven by political determination and the historically fraternal ties between the two nations.
